Head Chef for Lychgate, Wigan

We are currently recruiting for a Head Chef to work at one of our friendly and welcoming community pubs in the Wigan area. The Lychgate pub is currently under refurbishment and is to become one of our newest pub restaurants. The pubs are known for their family value dining and traditional real ales from the Manchester brewery Joseph Holt. An hourly rate of £9.00 is being offered for the right candidate, which is based on 48 hours per week. This hourly rate could increase as the business expands and performance is reviewed.

The Role: Head Chef

The successful Head Chef will be passionate about food quality and standards within the business. You will be obsessive in ensuring all meals leaving the kitchen meet the required specification and standards and only the very best will do. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for the financial performance of the kitchen including hygiene, Health & Safety, food stock control and ordering. You will enjoy a busy, hands on role and thrive on working as part of a successful team.

About You

Previous experience as a Head Chef in a small food business would be ideal, but we will consider a strong Sous Chef, ready for their first appointment.

  • Minimum level 2 food hygiene.
