Team Holts Runs the Great Manchester 10K
The Joseph Holt team joined tens of thousands of runners to take part in the Great Manchester Run today, to raise money for the 100 years appeal for the Christies Charity.
Our very own Dave, Edwin, Mark, Andy and Nial ran with double Olympic medallist Christine Ohuruogu, who got each of the races underway, which started on Portland Street and looped around Old Trafford before finishing on Deansgate.
The popular 10K run attracted marines, Wayne Rooney look-a-likes and people dressed in other ridiculous fancy dress costumes joined hundreds of elite runners to jog through the searing heat in the city centre. Ethiopian 10km world record holder Kenenisa Bekele beat Wilson Kipsang to win the men’s race in a time of 28 minutes and 23 seconds despite tough conditions, with temperatures as high as 25C.
We’re very proud of our Team Holt as we had raised an admirable £2,000 for the Christies appeal on the day so a very special thanks to all of our kind donators.
