Awards
Rich, roasted and creamy, our Mild is an unpretentious ale that has traversed time and is still going strong. It may be on the beer endangered list, but Joseph Holt is still well and truly flying the Mild flag. And for good reason.
Dark in colour and silky smooth in texture, this famous northern drink offers a full and roasted flavour. With an unassuming low 3.2% ABV our dark Mild packs plenty of flavour thanks to the use of black and crystal malts with English cone hops, giving a good amount of bitterness alongside a drop of sweetness with caramel and slight coffee notes – it’s no wonder it was so popular with miners after a hard day’s graft.

Goes Well With
Bury Black Pudding & Bacon Fritter
Two traditions combined; Mild & Black Pudding, never a truer match made in heaven. The rich malty flavour of our Mild offsets the sweet tang of the fig and shallot chutney and the smooth egg nestled atop the perfectly fried fritter tops this pairing off perfectly.
