Retail Partner/Pub Manager, Spread Eagle

We’re thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Retail Partner to take on The Spread Eagle, a well-established and much-loved community pub located in the heart of Chorlton.

This traditional three-storey pub offers something for everyone. The ground floor features a spacious bar area with Sky and TNT Sports, traditional pub games, and the newly installed Shuffleboard—making it a go-to venue for football, darts, F1, and other live sports. The pub also boasts a self-contained function room in the lower ground floor and eight hotel bedrooms on the first floor.

The outside areas include a front terrace, a covered side area, and a lower-level beer garden with picnic benches, setting the scene for excellent footfall and strong summer trade.

Serving the full range of Joseph Holt cask and keg beers, and offering Carr’s Pasties, the pub has established itself as a true community hub. With regular weekend entertainment and great indoor/outdoor space, there is plenty of scope for a creative operator to build further.  Currently trading at £13,000 per week, there is huge potential to grow this further through enhanced community engagement, sales-driving initiatives, and strong team leadership.

With over 175 years of brewing expertise under our belts, Joseph Holt prides itself on brewing the perfect pint, and we’re seeking an energetic General Manager/Retail Partner to champion our beer.

In this role, you won’t just be managing a team; you’ll be curating unforgettable experiences that place your pub at the heart of the community. From hosting entertainment to organising charitable events, you’ll be the driving force behind fostering connections and driving both sales and profits.

Interested? Here’s what we need from you?

• Previous experience operating £10k+ sales each week
• Previous Management experience in the hospitality industry
• The successful applicant(s) will need to manage a large team and ensure that their business is at the heart of the local community, with innovative entertainment and charitable events.
• Passionate about pubs and selling beer
• Strong sales and standards focus is essential
• Enthusiasm to lead and motivate your team
• Experience in operating a high volume wet/food led business is essential
