About the role:
This is a hands-on role at the heart of our brewing operations, perfect for someone who’s passionate about beer and eager to develop a long-term career in the brewing industry. As a Brewer, you’ll gain experience across all areas of production, from brewing and lab work to packaging and compliance. You’ll be part of a skilled and dedicated team, working in an environment where quality, safety, and pride in the product come first. Whether you’re experienced or looking to grow your brewing skills, this role offers the chance to be part of a proud brewing heritage while learning from the ground up.
Job Description:
- Brewing and Transferring Beer – you will work in all areas from malt intake to bright beer.
- Lab work.
- CIPs and audit compliance.
- Packaging.
- Ensuring all standard operating practices are adhered to.
- Ensuring that Company health, safety and security standards are maintained.
- Maintaining high standards of House Keeping / cleaning at all times.
About You:
- Previous Brewing experience or related industry is desirable but not essential. Full training will also be given.
- An awareness of Health and Safety.
- Reliable and flexible attitude to work.
- Hard working.
- Well organised and pays attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
- Able to organise own workload.
- A passion for beer.

Who are we?
Joseph Holt is an independent, six-generation family-owned company, with 128 pubs across the Northwest, ranging from traditional community pubs, food led destination pubs and some with onsite letting rooms. Since 1849 we have been brewing a wide range of award-winning beers in our Manchester brewery, which have won 7 Gold Medals at the International Brewing Awards at the last 7 International Brewing Awards in the last 14 years alone. Alongside this, we have an ever-expanding Free Trade and sell beer to multiple types of accounts across the country. We are a friendly, family run Brewer and Pub Company that are passionate about what we do and the people who work for us.
