IT Systems Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled, solutions-focused, and forward-thinking individual to join our team as IT Systems Manager on a permanent contract.

Overview

This is a key role at the centre of our business, responsible for ensuring the smooth running, ongoing development, and strategic improvement of all core IT systems across Joseph Holt. You will act as the primary contact for all business-critical systems including EPOS, PDQ, phone contracts, Power Apps, Power BI, and hotel interfaces—supporting both our brewery operations and our 127 pubs, plus our expanding free trade estate.

This role blends hands-on technical work with higher-level systems development, project management and long-term planning. You will support the business in improving efficiency, data quality, user experience, and digital capability across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary contact and technical owner for all Joseph Holt EPOS/Till systems, ensuring smooth integration with wider company systems.
• Build, maintain, and optimise Power BI dashboards and reporting tools, enabling departments to access accurate, meaningful data.
• Oversee company phone contracts and mobile devices, ensuring efficient usage and effective integration into business systems.
• Manage all hotel system interfaces, including room-booking integrations, PMS connectivity, and third-party booking channels.
• Manage PDQ systems, supplier contact, configuration, troubleshooting and seamless connectivity across the business.
• Build, maintain, and develop Microsoft Power Apps to support processes across multiple departments.
• Oversee the setup and ongoing management of the online table booking system across our pubs.
• Build, maintain, and update Joseph Holt’s intranet to ensure it remains functional, user-friendly and up to date.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and file structures for Brewery Office and Pub Office teams.
• Support colleagues across the wider business with IT training, systems understanding, and general IT best practice.
• Work closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver IT projects effectively and on time.
• Identify opportunities for digital improvements, automation, and system enhancements to support business growth.
• Provide hands-on support where required, balancing operational issues with longer-term development work.

The Successful Candidate:

• A confident communicator able to engage effectively with all levels of the business, from pub managers to senior leadership.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high attention to detail.
• Experienced in IT system management, data reporting, and digital infrastructure (Power BI, Power Apps, EPOS systems, etc).
• A proactive problem solver who enjoys finding solutions and remains calm when dealing with technical challenges.
• Analytical, methodical, and driven to improve systems and processes through digital innovation.
• Comfortable working independently, while also contributing positively to a wider team environment.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to providing efficient, professional support to the entire business.
• Experience in hospitality systems (EPOS, PDQ, booking systems, hotel systems) is desirable but not essential.

Joseph Holt is an independent, six-generation family-owned company, with 127 pubs across the Northwest, ranging from traditional community pubs, food led destination pubs and some with onsite letting rooms. Since 1849 we have been brewing a wide range of award-winning beers in our Manchester brewery, which have won 7 Gold Medals at the International Brewing Awards at the last 7 International Brewing Awards in the last 14 years alone.
